about
The Streets of Derry is a song that first came to me by Andy Irvine, and I fell in love with the story and the tune. When I heard Sam Amadon's version it inspired me to do my own take on it. In this track I use the guitar tuning EADEAE as I do on much of this album to maintain a certain consistency of sound, which, to me, gives the song a tint of nostalgia.
